Let’s continue to look at the second half of the NFL season. In this post, we will be looking at the NFC Conference. You can see the AFC second half post here.

Let’s start with the NFC East. This division looks like it is the New York Giants to lose and I don’t see that happening. I think that the Giants will have a very strong second half with their rushing attack that includes Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown and of course the passing threat of Eli Manning and Victor Cruz. The only team that could make a run at the division at this point is the Dallas Cowboys but I highly doubt that will happen but they will be competitive in the Wild Card picture.

Moving to the NFC North, I see this division being one of the more interesting divisions to watch during the second half of this season. The Chicago Bears are currently leading this division and their defense is leading this team. I don’t see this continuing in the second half of the season and their offense has struggled a bit with QB Jay Cutler and WR Brandon Marshall and not much else. I see the Green Bay Packers behind Aaron Rodgers charging back and taking this division in the final weeks of the season.

Onto the NFC West, I think this division is the most up in the air in the entire NFL. At the start of the season, the San Francisco 49ers were heavy favorites to just walk away with the division but the Arizona Cardinals came out firing on all cylinders and reeled off 4 straight wins. Since their 4-0 start, the Cardinals have gone 0-4. The 49ers are now 6-2 and have a strong lead on the rest of the division but both the Seattle Seahawks and Cardinals have shown signs of being able to string together a couple of wins. If either of those teams are able to do that down the stretch, they could make this an interesting division to keep an eye.

Finally to the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons already have a strangle hold on this division with a 7-0 record and will continue to have this division locked down. Matt Ryan will continue to lead this team with the wide receiver corp of Roddy White and Julio Jones. The New Orleans Saints could make a move in this division but I have a feeling the only way Drew Brees and the Saints make to the playoffs is through the Wild Card.

Speaking of the Wild Card, I believe that the Wild Card teams out the NFC will be the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears.
